On Friday November 6, District Health Department No. 4 will be doing dental screenings on our kindergarten students as mandated by section 333.9316 of the Public Health Code requires that all children in Michigan enrolled in their first year of school, either kindergarten or 1st grade, receive an oral health assessment (“dental screening”).
The primary purpose of the MDHHS KOHA program is to identify, through screening, children who need to be seen for dental care and refer them for that care. There is no other dental service, either preventive or restorative, associated with the MDHHS KOHA program.
If you do NOT want your child to be screened, please notify the school in writing PRIOR to the screening dates.
